After School Program (ASP)
The overarching philosophy for the After School Program is aligned with the Waldorf approach to educate the head, heart and hands. Our goal is to provide a loving, secure, "at home" experience for children beyond their normal school day. We provide plenty of time to play with friends, engage in arts and crafts, outdoor fun and games, rest, music, reading, nature exploration and seasonal projects. Additionally, we provide children in grades 3-6 academic tutoring and grade-specific educational support.
Our goal is to support children's need for social interaction, provide opportunities for problem solving, and a relaxing "out-breath" after the school day. Children are encouraged to support each other when playing; to treat everyone with kindness, patience, respect and to be honest and helpful. We use restorative circles to solve problems that arise, redirecting children to our school values and agreements.

2022-23 After School Application

Kindergarten Program
The Kindergarten After School Program takes place in the Rosemary Kindergarten classroom until 3 pm. We believe kindergarten children are best served in the kindergarten room. The Kindergarten program involves snack time, rest time, story time, seasonal arts and crafts and free play. Kindergarten children will need to bring a nutritious lunch. In keeping with our Waldorf pedagogy, we strongly recommend kindergarteners be picked up at 3 pm. For parents needing care after 3 pm, we have a limited number of spaces until 4:30 pm. Grades Program
The Grades After School Program takes place from 2:50/3:05- 5:30 pm in the After School room. The Grades program begins with homework help followed by a nutritious, snack, games, outdoor activities and seasonal arts & crafts. |
Work-Study for Grades 7 and 8
We offer a "work-study" program for 7 and 8 students free of charge (application fee applies) to participate as a mentor to younger students. Students help with snack preparation, homework assistance where needed, reading to younger children. The work-study program will benefit students who are looking for volunteer hours to develop skills with responsibility, organization, and time management for future jobs. These students will need to have a signed Aftercare Agreement on file in order to participate. If you are interested in a work-study program for your student, please contact Ms. Denise.
How To Sign-Up for the After School Program
Our After School Program uses the SmartCare App for weekly billing and payments. All payments must be made with ACH Debit or Credit Card on file. No checks or cash are accepted.
Complete the After School Program Application, sign and date your child's application and initial the agreements/statements of understanding for our program policies and guidelines.
We will do our best to accomodate all childcare needs. Full-time care (5 days a week) is given priority over part-time care.
